Welcome to the 12th Southwest Cheshire (1st Shavington) Scout Group
We are based at The Scout Hut, Main Road, Shavington, Cheshire, CW2 5DU, (OS map reference: SJ698517)
and have three active units;
- Beavers (6-8 years)
- Cubs (8-10½ years)
- Scouts (10½-14 years)
The leaders and volunteers are unpaid and give their time freely to promote Scouting. Funding is through subscriptions and additional income comes mainly from fund-raising events. To pay for specific projects, new equipment and to fund certain activities we can apply for grants from the Cheshire East Council, Lottery Funding and other organisations.
Regular meetings take place throughout school term-time. During the summer months, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts meet at Milldale instead of the Scout Hut.
