Refurbishment
Maintenance and repair of the scout hut is ongoing. An area of the suspended floor has collapsed due to wet rot in the joists and floorboards. This has been repaired on a temporary basis but the problem of damp needs to be eliminated for the long term. A previous repair in the same area indicates that the problem is not a new one but has occurred before. The proposed course of action is to replace the entire floor with a new solid one. This would elimiate the problem and provide a quieter and better insulated floor. An indicative estimate has been obtained and additional funding raising activities will be required.
